The Space Between

This time between Christmas and New Years might be described as a pause between holidays - or a time to reflect about the past year and to make some resolutions about the year ahead. However you look at it — these seven days are definitely a unique time where many are on holiday while others are helping to maintain the status quo of everyday life. It is not a business as usual time.

This time frame could be called “liminal” as it is a transitional or transformative space. With that frame of mind - I am stepping into this week pre-new year, with an open heart full of gratitude, reflecting on the past year…poised for a new year grounded in integrity, humility and heart centered living.

I look ahead to the month of January - one of my favorite studio times. It is quieter, fewer interruptions. No major holidays. No reason to go anywhere but maybe a polar swim, or a brisk walk. And TONS of time in the studio.

Currently my work is in several shows - all of which conclude in a month:

3S Artspace, Portsmouth NH

3S Artspace Portsmouth NH “What if our bodies know they are made of elements begun as stars?” An installation of “Indra’s Net” plus the four panel “The Blue Horizon” Up until January 26, 2025

Maine FiberArts a group show in Topsham ME that includes some of the best textile art in Maine! I have several pieces including three from my “Praise for Life” series. Up until February 1, 2025.

Craftforms 29th International Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Fine Craft at the Wayne Art Center, Wayne PA. Up until January 25, 2025

“Beyond Gravity” in the Craftforms exhibition, Wayne PA

So here’s wishing each and all of you a sweet pause, a moment of reflection, a happy in-between, a lovely liminal space.
